The Lemon OG strain (also known as Lemon OG Kush or Presidential Kush) is a balanced hybrid that’s pretty easy to get your hands on since it’s widely used and well-loved. While this 50/50 sativa/indica blend doesn’t deliver a very long-lasting high, it more than makes up for its lack of longevity with its speed of onset and effectiveness.
Expect to feel pleasantly euphoric, creative, and uplifted before you gently settle into heavy relaxation. Overall, Lemon OG delivers an uplifted, happy calm that’s great for melting away stress and irritation, but beware — it usually brings about a serious case of the munchies.

Strain Information
Since its creation, the Lemon OG strain has won a variety of cannabis awards and has also enjoyed widespread popularity. The strain has an average THC content of about 20%, which makes it a solid choice for both recreational and medicinal use. But Lemon OG doesn’t have any CBD whatsoever, so it’s probably not the best bud for addressing more intense medical symptoms.
A cross between Las Vegas Lemon Skunk and The OG #18, Lemon OG’s effects feel a bit more psychoactive than its kush relatives. It delivers a rapid-onset cerebral high accompanied by a weighty, medicated sensation that can feel pretty sleepy, depending on the dose.

Pairs With Food
Sushi: Flavor-packed and super satisfying, sushi is excellent finger food when this strain’s notorious munchies set in.
Charcuterie board: A little cheese, a little meat, a little dried fruit, a few olives, and some crunchy crackers make for an excellent, flavor-packed snack to go with your bowl of Lemon OG.
Mango salsa and tortilla chips: The terpenes in mangoes are well-known to intensify the cannabis high, so why not switch out your standard salsa for the mango version? Excellent finger food for when the munchies come calling.
Pairs With Spirits
Lemon drop martini: If you love the lemony taste of this strain, why not double up? Sip this vodka-based cocktail while you kick back, relax, and light up.
Old Fashioned: This smooth, bourbon-based cocktail is a classic before-bed drink. Enjoy it while you burn some Lemon OG for the ultimate wind-down experience.
Citrus IPA: Citrus IPAs are known for their earthy, grassy, lemony flavor. They’re even more enjoyable while the taste of Lemon OG still lingers on your tongue.
Where The Lemon OG Strain Is Grown
The Lemon OG strain was created by DNA Genetics in 2004. After breeding its parent strains, these guys discovered that the brand-new Lemon OG plant grew with an unusually high calyx-to-leaf ratio.
Calyxes form the beginnings of the cannabis plant’s pistils and trichomes, which eventually become the richest source of THC on the entire plant. Given its amazingly high quantity of calyxes, Lemon OG was (and still is) a remarkably high-yield strain.
This bud’s high THC concentration and yield made it a desirable strain among growers, which ultimately led to its rise in popularity.
Strain Summary
If you’re looking for a relaxing mood boost before bed, Lemon OG won’t disappoint. While it might not knock you out completely, it does hit quick and hard with a happy, euphoric head high that almost borders on sleepy. Expect a heavy body high as the cerebral effects mellow out and a relaxed comedown that gently lulls you into a peaceful, medicated sleep.
Since Lemon OG is among the most fast-acting, heavy-hitting hybrids out there, it’s probably best for experienced cannabis users.
