Some days we all need something warm to make us feel better. Our Cannabis-infused milk is the perfect drink for those days. By infusing cannabis flowers in the milk you can create a drink packed with all the benefits of CBD. It’s great to use as is, or as a base for drink recipes like hot chocolate or a chai maple latte.
I make this recipe for cannabis-infused milk when I want to use up my leftover bud trimmings. The process is simple: decarb, infuse and drink. However, the result will leave you loving this cannabis milk drink. We promise!
Choosing The Right Ingredients For A Cannabis-Infused Milk
You can make the cannabis-infused milk drink with cow’s milk or keep it vegan by mixing it with your favorite plant mylks. Remember, CBD is fat soluble so you want to use whole milk or plant milk with a good fat content: Coconut, Macadamia, Almond, Hemp, Pistachio, and Cashew mylks are all excellent choices.Â
CBD has a soothing effect on the body and by pairing this warm and infused milk with a spoonful of honey you’ve got the perfect feel-good nightcap. * If you only add a splash of milk to your drinks, then add more bud to the recipe, adjust accordingly by using our CBD Dosage Chart Calculator to figure out how much.
Complementing Flavors In Cannabis-Infused Drinks
Food pairing is fun with cannabis. If you’re going to make hot chocolate or coffee try the vanilla-heavy Vanilla Frosting or play with the fruity chocolatey notes found in Rainbow Chip. The Strain Finder is a great tool not only for finding complementing flavors, but also identifying which strains will suit you best.
I’d love to hear how you use your cannabis milk: feel free to share with us what you do, whether it’s sipping slowly with chocolate on a cold day, or adding it to your morning joe and facing the morning commute in style.

Ingredients
1.5 grams of cannabis flower
1.5 cups whole milk (or plant milk with a good fat content)
Instructions
- Decarboxylate : First things first, prep your cannabis by decarboxylating. This process activates the THC and/or CBD that will be infused into the butter. Preheat your oven to 220 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread your cannabis over the parchment and cover with aluminum foil. Bake for 22-30 minutes, keep an eye on it, every oven is different. When finished it should be lightly toasted and aromatic.
- Infuse the milk with the flower: Place the ground cannabis into a heatproof container as a double boiler*, in a slow cooker, decarboxylator device, or sous vide. Infuse over low heat 185F for 3 hours.
- Cool Once the 3 hours are up, strain, set aside to cool and set aside in the fridge.
- Enjoy! Use as a base for hot chocolate, coffee, or in a smoothie
Notes
- * Dosing with CBD flowers is not an exact science. Different extraction methods extract different amounts of Cannabinoids and even buds from the same strain vary in quality. I recommend working with a trusted budtender or consistent brand to keep your dosing consistent. * I make all my infusions in heatproof glass jars. Just place them in a saucepan filled with water, and simmer over low heat.
