Allt-á-Bhainne Distillery Description

In Scottish Gaelic, “Allt-á-Bhainne” translates as “milk burn” or “milk stream,” referring to the small spring water tributary that flows nearby. The distillery is located a ways down the road from Dufftown, in the Highlands on the east coast.
Allt-á-Bhainne Distillery was built from the ground up in 1975, for one purpose and one purpose only — to supply malt spirits for the Chivas range of blends.
But as the demand for single malts has increased (and the official regulators have stubbornly refused to drop labeling standards), they now reserve a bit of production to create a single malt offering.
Due to the modern building and current, highly automated production system, many have called Allt-á-Bhainne the most productive distillery in Scotland. One person is all that is required to manage the entire process.
